چکیده

The article sheds light on Gramsci’s use of the term fetishism. Despite not being as present and pervasive within Prison Notebooks other concepts, more deeply rooted in Gramscian scholarship (such hegemony historic bloc), fetishism is marginal reflection it usually believed. Linking his understanding to one developed by Marx later unorthodox Marxist scholarship, I shall argue that can be seen a key component theory revolution or, better, failure revolutionary process. For this reason, will also link occasional reference concepts such common sense, passive revolution. Fetishistic views reality, Gramsci, appear facilitating conservation status quo, while re-acquisition individual collective responsibility comes along with de-fetishising practices necessary any project.

Teleoperation based on the hidden robot concept

Overlaying classical teleoperation control schemes based on a bilateral master–slave coupling, a teleoperation architecture designed in a general teleworking context is proposed. In this scheme, the executing machine is perceptually and functionally hidden to the operator by means of an intermediate functional representation between a real remote world and man. As any executing machine, and mor...

Drakes, seadevils, and similarity fetishism

Homeostatic property clusters (HPCs) are offered as a way of understanding natural kinds, especially biological species. I review the HPC approach and then discuss an objection by Ereshefsky and Matthen, to the effect that an HPC qua cluster seems ill-fitted as a description of a polymorphic species. The standard response by champions of the HPC approach is to say that all members of a polymorp...

Recurring Hidden Contexts in Online Concept Learning

Learning systems in dynamic environments have to be able to process examples that occurred in different hidden contexts. We review several approaches to hidden context aware concept learning systems and question the appropriateness of the Calendar Apprentice domain as a real world benchmark for hidden context aware learning systems. By providing a simple lower error bound for batch learning sys...
